Duruflé in Paris Choral Festival
May 6-8, 2018
Festival Chorus, Orchestre de l’académie de l’ile Saint-Louis,
Mitchell Covington, Artistic Director; Laurel Covington, Assistant Director
7 Music-Filled Days You Will NEVER Forget!
This festival is open to individual singers throughout the United States and England.
Join in a 65-voice choir of talented singers as they rehearse and perform two of the world's most beloved choral works, with professional orchestra in some of the world's most stunning performance venues.
The Festival Choir and Orchestra will rehearse and perform Maurice Duruflé's REQUIEM, op, 9 and the Quatre Motets, op. 10 in the very church where Duruflé worked: Saint-Etienne-du-Mont, as well as Chartres Cathedral. The Festival choir will also present the Quatre Motets during Sunday Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral.*
Excellent hotel accommodations, transportation, some meals and sight-seeing trips are all included. The itinerary allows for lots of free time to explore Paris on your own. Participants will also have the option of extending their stay in Paris.
We're NOT looking to populate our choir with 65 professional vocal soloists. We're looking for choral singers, with natural voices, who can sing in tune, accurately, and who can learn this music, partly on their own.
*Venues subject to confirmation.
TRIP INSURANCE
Tour payments are non-refundable. We recommend that our participants purchase trip insurance. With trip insurance, if you can’t make the trip to Paris, for any covered reason, all of your payments will be reimbursed 100%. Trip insurance is available from various sources.
